Inbound Routes

An inbound route answers the question: "when someone calls this number, where should the call go?" Every phone number you receive (a DID) gets pointed at a destination.

Where a call can go

Open the Call Routing tab and map each DID to one of:

An extension

Ring one person's phone directly.

An auto attendant

Play a menu — "press 1 for sales." See Auto Attendants.

A ring group

Ring several phones together. See Ring Groups.

A call queue

Line callers up for agents. See Call Queues.

A conference

Drop the caller into a meeting room.

Voicemail or Fax

Send straight to a mailbox or the Fax Center.

Time-of-day & holiday routing

Routes can change based on the clock and the calendar. Send calls to the sales queue during business hours, to an after-hours greeting in the evening, and to a holiday message on the days you're closed — all automatically.

Fallbacks

Every destination has a sensible fallback. If a ring group or queue isn't answered, the call can roll to voicemail rather than ringing forever — you decide where.

Calls to unknown numbers

If someone dials an internal extension that doesn't exist, VoicerOnePBX answers and politely says the number isn't in service (some phones silently fast-busy on a rejection, which confuses callers — this makes it obvious).
