Browser Access

You don't need a desk phone to use your extension. VoicerOnePBX includes a browser softphone — a phone that runs right in your web browser — so you can make and take calls from a laptop with a headset, no app to install.

Getting in

  1. Open the web address your admin gave you (it will start with https://).
  2. Sign in with your extension and password.
  3. Allow the browser to use your microphone when it asks — that's what carries your voice.
Why it must be "https"

Browsers only let a page use your microphone and camera over a secure (https) connection. If the mic option is greyed out, you're probably on the plain http address — ask your admin for the secure one.

Using it

The browser phone works like any softphone: type a number and hit call, answer incoming calls with a click, and hold or transfer from the on-screen buttons. Because it registers as your real extension, people reach you the same way whether you're on the desk phone or the browser.

Video & screen sharing

The browser client also does video calls and, in a support setting, lets a customer share their screen with you from a link — all using WebRTC, still with nothing to install.
