Call Transcriptions
VoicerOnePBX can turn recorded calls and voicemail into text — so you can read a voicemail instead of listening, search past calls for a phrase, or keep a written record. It all happens on your Mac; audio is never sent to a cloud service.
How it works
When a call recording or voicemail is saved, it's added to a transcription queue and processed in the background using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Call recordings are captured in two channels (caller on one side, agent on the other), which VoicerOnePBX transcribes separately and labels — so you can tell who said what.
Transcription jobs are tracked durably. If the app restarts mid-job, it picks up where it left off — nothing is lost.
AI summaries
On supported macOS versions, VoicerOnePBX can also generate a short summary and action items from a voicemail or call using Apple's on-device foundation models — again, entirely on your Mac. Summaries can be included in the voicemail email so people get the gist at a glance.
Where transcripts appear
- In the Message Center next to each voicemail.
- In the call recordings browser, alongside the audio.
- In voicemail-to-email messages (text + optional summary).
Transcribing each side of the call separately is what makes crosstalk (both people speaking together) come out right — a single mixed recording would garble it.
